“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty,” Psalm 91:1 (NKJV). The secret place is any place God calls us under His shadow. More often than not it is in deep prayer where we both say and mean, “not my will, but Yours be done”. There is no room for personal pride there. The secret place is not merely scheduled prayer time, it is a deeper place within prayer. “When you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you[c openly,” Matthew 6:6 (NKJV). The secret place is fully surrendered space within prayer. This kind of prayer refreshes the heart while cutting away fleshly things. LORD, thank You for Your divine invitations and intrusions. Make, me, melt me mold me, use me.
