AN AMBASSADOR IN CHAINS

In Ephesians 6:19-20 (ESV), the apostle Paul solicits prayer: “that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel  for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.” His prayer requests reveal three critical points: 1. The words we speak must be God’s Words, not our own. 2. We must boldly and faithfully speak them. 3. We are all “ambassadors in chains”, representing Him and His Kingdom. In other words, we represent Him, not ourselves and we do so from whatever station in life God chooses for us. Frankly, so many others I know seem to do a much better job representing the Gospel than I, but I cannot be a copy of someone else since we are each designed according to God’s choices to be used for His will. Spirit of the Living God fall afresh on me. Make me, melt me, fill me, use me. LORD, So be it.
