“One gives freely yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched,
and one who waters will himself be watered,” Proverbs 11:24-25 ESV.
For many, life is all about grabbing all you can, canning what you get, and poisoning the rest. To this person, life is measured by how much they’re able to collect, keep and control. But “good life” is actually knowing the blessing of living to give, living to lift, living to bless and living to love. When my attention is on what I lack, my heart shrinks, but when my eyes are on what I can do for others, my heart is enlarged, faith is released, and joy abounds. The “good life” is a life continually certified as a child of God through generosity. LORD God, keep my heart cleansed and filled with love. All that I am and all that I steward in this life are Yours to direct.
