“For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the Lord, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink,” Isaiah 32:6 ESV. A simple definition of a fool from a biblical perspective is a person who does not believe in God: “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” Psalm 14:1 ESV. Another type of fool is someone who rejects His divine knowledge and authority: “A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion” Proverbs 18:2 ESV. Every person has the choice to be as wise as they should be or foolish as they want to be. However, to choose to be a fool is to choose the way of those who are perishing. So how can I be wise? “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him,” James 1:5 ESV.
“This is the day that the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Psalm 118:24 ESV. The table is set for a brand-new day. Only God knows exactly what is already prepared for my arrival in it. I must now leave behind days gone by and ready myself for new insight, a higher life, and greater things. Am I up for what today will bring? Only the day will tell, but the One who provides it will also carry me through it. One thing is sure; I will walk upon on sacred footprints since the Alpha and Omega has already trod this moment in advance, sprinkling blessings and divine opportunities throughout. I must pay attention so I don’t miss a thing He has placed along the path. Lord God, Lover of My Soul, today is the day You have made; I am so good with that and already rejoicing in what is to unfold. Lift me in Your arms and carry me through with faith, joy, and purpose.
