Unforgiveness
is a dangerous intruder in the heart of the redeemed. Forgiveness is not an
optional “add-on” to the believer’s life; it is the very foundation of our
faith. We throw ourselves back into the abyss by clinging to offenses, all the
while being utterly dependent upon God’s constant mercy. How I handle forgiveness
is an indicator of my relationship with the Redeemer since He warns: “Do not
condemn, and you will not be condemned.” Heavenly Father, I release my offenses
into Your hands. Cleanse my soul from every smidgeon of acrimony toward others
and make my heart a place where unforgiveness cannot dwell.
