“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men,” Luke 2:14 KJV. The second chapter of Luke is fully loaded! There are praising angels, an angelic choir, wandering shepherds…you know the story. What a happy and heart moving scene! In this verse above a wonderful and eternal principle is revealed: Giving glory to God brings peace and goodwill toward others in the earth. Openly worshipping the God of Heaven and Earth creates an environment of goodwill and peace any place within His creation. Genuine praise of The LORD of All invites heavenly blessing to wherever you are, even as you are circling the lot for the third time, searching for a parking place, as you wait for a table, stand in line at the cashier or sit in Christmas traffic. LORD, I pray that You open our hearts and let us see past the mayhem and noise. May my life reveal the peace that only You can bring.
“This is the day that the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Psalm 118:24 ESV. The table is set for a brand-new day. Only God knows exactly what is already prepared for my arrival in it. I must now leave behind days gone by and ready myself for new insight, a higher life, and greater things. Am I up for what today will bring? Only the day will tell, but the One who provides it will also carry me through it. One thing is sure; I will walk upon on sacred footprints since the Alpha and Omega has already trod this moment in advance, sprinkling blessings and divine opportunities throughout. I must pay attention so I don’t miss a thing He has placed along the path. Lord God, Lover of My Soul, today is the day You have made; I am so good with that and already rejoicing in what is to unfold. Lift me in Your arms and carry me through with faith, joy, and purpose.
