“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem,” Isaiah 2:3 ESV. I liked to climb things as a child. Being higher up somehow made me feel stronger and gave me a better perspective on things. But no place gives a better perspective than “The Mountain of the LORD”! A daily visit to higher spiritual ground teaches me to see things from a heavenly perspective, where giants look tiny, and mountains are mere molehills. The great thing is that I can go to the LORD’S MOUNTAIN from anywhere! It is as close as recalling a Scripture, a moment of praise, or a quiet reflection upon God’s faithfulness. LORD, thank you for lifting me higher than daily circumstances. I will visit You there multiple times this very day!
“This is the day that the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Psalm 118:24 ESV. The table is set for a brand-new day. Only God knows exactly what is already prepared for my arrival in it. I must now leave behind days gone by and ready myself for new insight, a higher life, and greater things. Am I up for what today will bring? Only the day will tell, but the One who provides it will also carry me through it. One thing is sure; I will walk upon on sacred footprints since the Alpha and Omega has already trod this moment in advance, sprinkling blessings and divine opportunities throughout. I must pay attention so I don’t miss a thing He has placed along the path. Lord God, Lover of My Soul, today is the day You have made; I am so good with that and already rejoicing in what is to unfold. Lift me in Your arms and carry me through with faith, joy, and purpose.
