Isaiah spoke of God’s fervency declaring: “The zeal
of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this”. God’s children must also be
zealous. Fervency applied without good judgment can be brutal, even destructive,
but faith without fervor is useless. Zealousness, like expired food left
abandoned in the back of the refrigerator, will eventually expire; its value sadly
lost down the disposal for lack of use. God is zealous, yet with the perfect
counterbalance of divine wisdom and perfect love. Zeal must therefore first be bathed
in wisdom and love before applied. Lord, grant me ardor, determination,
devotion, diligence, drive, eagerness, earnestness, enterprise, fire, gusto,
hustle, inclination, initiative, intensity, passion, perseverance, readiness,
sincerity, spirit, stick-to-itiveness, urgency and wisdom this day.
