“When I remember you on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches,” Psalms 63:9 NKJV. I arrived very late in my room last night after a significantly delayed flight. I was exhausted, frustrated, and not in a great mood. Yet within just moments of prayer, reading Scripture, and praise, I not only felt better, but I also received some clarity on a couple of issues on which I needed direction. God is so GOOD! Psalm 16:7 states: “I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons.” Again, he wrote, “You have tested my heart; You have visited me in the night” Psalm 17:3. How marvelous it is that Almighty God whispers His divine secrets to His children. It was a reminder of how vital cultivating a listening ear actually is. Father, thank You for speaking to my heart. Help me be faithful as both a hearer and a doer of Your Word and Will.
“This is the day that the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Psalm 118:24 ESV. The table is set for a brand-new day. Only God knows exactly what is already prepared for my arrival in it. I must now leave behind days gone by and ready myself for new insight, a higher life, and greater things. Am I up for what today will bring? Only the day will tell, but the One who provides it will also carry me through it. One thing is sure; I will walk upon on sacred footprints since the Alpha and Omega has already trod this moment in advance, sprinkling blessings and divine opportunities throughout. I must pay attention so I don’t miss a thing He has placed along the path. Lord God, Lover of My Soul, today is the day You have made; I am so good with that and already rejoicing in what is to unfold. Lift me in Your arms and carry me through with faith, joy, and purpose.
