“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us,” Romans 8:18 ESV. Material things and personal benefits are easily taken for granted. When something to which I am accustomed is no longer is available, I always feel surprised and disappointed. Presumption it seems is a constant nemesis and is a sad result of exaggerated self-importance. So, what is God’s answer to our constant tendency to be presumptuous? Shifting sand, inconstant circumstances, tidal changes; in other words, nothing in this world endures exactly the way it is right now, and this is by divine design. In this way, He keeps us constantly reminded and forewarned, this world is not our home. Merciful Father, You, are the Solid Rock on which I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. You Alone are THE FOREVER CONSTANT. Thank You for the reminders.
“This is the day that the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Psalm 118:24 ESV. The table is set for a brand-new day. Only God knows exactly what is already prepared for my arrival in it. I must now leave behind days gone by and ready myself for new insight, a higher life, and greater things. Am I up for what today will bring? Only the day will tell, but the One who provides it will also carry me through it. One thing is sure; I will walk upon on sacred footprints since the Alpha and Omega has already trod this moment in advance, sprinkling blessings and divine opportunities throughout. I must pay attention so I don’t miss a thing He has placed along the path. Lord God, Lover of My Soul, today is the day You have made; I am so good with that and already rejoicing in what is to unfold. Lift me in Your arms and carry me through with faith, joy, and purpose.
