“The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with his justice and righteousness. He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.” Isaiah 33:5-6 NIV. Having awe and respect of God’s first position in all things opens the locked away treasures of this life and of the world to come. I have a collection of unused keys gathered over many years. It is a mystery to me how I have possession of so many and yet have no clue what they open. Strangely, I still have a difficult time discarding them. Wouldn’t it be great to have just one key that opened everything? In fact, I do have that very key! Almighty Father, You are the Key to All Things, Your boundless majesty and wisdom are openly available to the trusting heart. I am grateful that what You open no one can shut, and what You shut no one can open.
“This is the day that the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Psalm 118:24 ESV. The table is set for a brand-new day. Only God knows exactly what is already prepared for my arrival in it. I must now leave behind days gone by and ready myself for new insight, a higher life, and greater things. Am I up for what today will bring? Only the day will tell, but the One who provides it will also carry me through it. One thing is sure; I will walk upon on sacred footprints since the Alpha and Omega has already trod this moment in advance, sprinkling blessings and divine opportunities throughout. I must pay attention so I don’t miss a thing He has placed along the path. Lord God, Lover of My Soul, today is the day You have made; I am so good with that and already rejoicing in what is to unfold. Lift me in Your arms and carry me through with faith, joy, and purpose.
