How sad. Samson had become so accustomed to the special gift from God he possessed that he took it for granted. His arrogance ultimately cost him everything. Our promise in the New Covenant is “For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you,’” Hebrews 13:5 ESV. While God will not abandon His children, He will discipline us. More than ever, I realize how important it is that I remain conscious of who I am as His child and how I reflect upon Him by what I do. Precious LORD, grant me the grace to honestly look into the mirror and to make the necessary changes You desire.
