“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way,” 1 Timothy 2:1-2 ESV. This passage is so appropriate for this very moment, so today I will use it as a pattern for my morning prayer. Blessed Father, Maker of all people, Ruler of all things, I begin my prayers seeking Your salvation for ALL PEOPLE, especially in my beloved nation. I thank You for sending the peoples of the world to this special land. Empower us to love one another with Your burning love. Grant us grace to understand and cherish one another, especially in times of misunderstanding and turmoil. We remember before you our appointed leaders in high positions and ask that You grant them Your wisdom and guidance. And LORD, help me lead a peaceful, quiet, godly, and dignified life before others. Amen.
“This is the day that the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Psalm 118:24 ESV. The table is set for a brand-new day. Only God knows exactly what is already prepared for my arrival in it. I must now leave behind days gone by and ready myself for new insight, a higher life, and greater things. Am I up for what today will bring? Only the day will tell, but the One who provides it will also carry me through it. One thing is sure; I will walk upon on sacred footprints since the Alpha and Omega has already trod this moment in advance, sprinkling blessings and divine opportunities throughout. I must pay attention so I don’t miss a thing He has placed along the path. Lord God, Lover of My Soul, today is the day You have made; I am so good with that and already rejoicing in what is to unfold. Lift me in Your arms and carry me through with faith, joy, and purpose.
