“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap, (Galatians 6:7 ESV). God is never taken-in by my words, no matter how sincere they seem to me. Frankly, nor am I for I too, must see follow-through in my actions to genuinely believe in what I say. Often, I have been at that divine tipping point where intent teetered toward sincerity, then I rocked back toward selfish contentment only to again settle for spiritual complacency. But God will not abandon me to the squalor of begging from a barren heart. He is intent on teaching His children to abide in the King’s Palace. 1 John 1:18 points the way, “let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” My LORD, My God, You lovingly rock me forward till I cast my eyes onto Your fullness, nothing else will do. May I completely fall firmly and permanently into Your loving arms. Father, rock my world toward You.
“This is the day that the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Psalm 118:24 ESV. The table is set for a brand-new day. Only God knows exactly what is already prepared for my arrival in it. I must now leave behind days gone by and ready myself for new insight, a higher life, and greater things. Am I up for what today will bring? Only the day will tell, but the One who provides it will also carry me through it. One thing is sure; I will walk upon on sacred footprints since the Alpha and Omega has already trod this moment in advance, sprinkling blessings and divine opportunities throughout. I must pay attention so I don’t miss a thing He has placed along the path. Lord God, Lover of My Soul, today is the day You have made; I am so good with that and already rejoicing in what is to unfold. Lift me in Your arms and carry me through with faith, joy, and purpose.
